Turcius Almachius was the name of the Roman prefect who condemned to death St. Cecilia, her husband and his brother.
Almachius died in 391.
Saint Cecilia is considered the saint patroness of musicians. She is one of the most famous Roman martyrs. The story that is told about her is that she was a noble Roman lady that before consummating her marriage pleaded her husband to respect her virginity, as she was able to see an angel that would punish him otherwise. After that she was tormented by Roman prefect Turcius Almachius, but despite her bodily harm, she was able to survive for three days, enough time to ask the Pope to convert her home into a church.
the soldiers wanted to kill her but i don't know why?... and they tried to gas her in the house of her own bathroom but that didn't work so they sent a soldier and he struck at her 3 times (her head was only half severed) and she lied in her own blood for 3 days until her soul finally left to heaven.
