Whom did God create first?

The last book of The Bible identifies Jesus as "the beginning of the creation by God." (Revelation 3:14) Jesus is "the firstborn of all creation." That is so "because by means of him all other things were created in the heavens and upon the earth, the things visible and the things invisible." (Colossians 1:15, 16) Yes, Jesus was the only one directly created by God himself. Therefore, he is called God's "only-begotten Son." (John 3:16)

Genesis 2 is a detailed recap of the brief Creation-statement of Genesis 1. Unless you have an axe to grind, there need be no contradictions between the two. Adam was created first.

The Torah states that it was written in its entirety by one author, Moses (Deuteronomy 31:24), to whom it was dictated by God (Exodus 24:12), including earlier events.
The Torah has one creation-narrative, which takes the form of a summary (Genesis ch.1) followed by an in-depth recap (Rashi commentary, Genesis 2:8).
When we see a newspaper whose opening headline is paraphrased in the detailed story, we don't ascribe the repetition to different writers.

But this kind of literary device, which the Torah employs to enrich its text, has been used by Bible-critics in an attempt to reassign and divide up its authorship.

This need not concern believers, since such claims have been debunked one by one, as archaeology and other disciplines have demonstrated the integrity of the Torah. No fragments have ever been found that would support a Documentary Hypothesis, which remains nothing more than guesswork.

• In Genesis chapter 1, the animals were created before humans, both male and female together.
  
• In Genesis chapter 2, a man (Adam) was created first, then the animals, then a woman (Eve).

Leon R. Kass (The Beginning of Wisdom) says that in order to understand the Genesis accounts, we must scrupulously avoid reading into the second story any facts or notions taken from the first, and vice versa.

• In Chinese mythology a lonely goddess named Nü Wa made some beings like herself out of mud. These became the aristocrats. Later Nü Wa created the commoners.
• In North America the Blackfoot Napi, the Old Man, came from the south, making the terrain, plants, and animals as he headed north. Then he created the first people, a woman and her son from clay.
