for one to become a scribe, he/she had to attend a special school for the scribes. At this school one would learn to read and write the hieroglyphic and hieratic scripts. This was hard work since the scripts are complicated, and there were also many signs to learn.
I am doing the same project and im fairly sure that the scribes didnt go on stike so i think your supposed to just make it up and just resrearch scribes

If you were a scribe in Egypt you were in a higher class than most. You could read and write. If the Egyptian needed you to interpret something or as a diplomat, they would probably come to see you.

Pharaohs, the rulers of Ancient Egypt, were very powerful and I don't think it was custom for the people to disagree with them. You would have to go to a Historian or a History book to find out more about the political status of Ancient Egypt. If you're researching life in Ancient Egypt, you may find this site useful... it has lots of info on Ancient Egypt (click on "Ancient Egypt" on the left to go to the home page). http://www.ancientegypt.co.uk/pharaoh/home.html
