He wasn't made nearly as often as, say, Hera, but on occasion he got a little annoyed, usually because someone (generally a mortal) compared themselves to him or performed some insult upon a temple or worshipper of him.

He was also known for traveling in a beggar or traveler's guise, testing the hospitality of mortals - if he was mistreated in his guise, he would do something unpleasant to the inadequate "host".

Several of his actions were taken to protect himself or his power - Metis (Athena's mother), for example, was prophecied to bring forth a daughter who's son would overthrow him... so he swallowed her and "gave birth" to Athena from his forehead.
