Yes they do. We have Bald eagle nests around here and they are the size of small cars. High up in the crook of Cotton Wood trees. Such an effort is not something you take on every year, best to reuse.
Bald eagles will return to the old nest, add new material, year after year, until the nest falls from its own weight. They then will construct a new one.
Bald eagles will add to their old nest each year for that year's nesting til the weight of the nest causes it to collapse.

69 pounds Large female eagles can weigh 16-28 lb while male eagles which are smaller than female eagles can weigh from 8-13 lb
It depends on species but territories are generally held by males and they return to the same territory each year, if they can fight-off competitors. The same hen turning-up is far from guaranteed, but re-use of a successful nest-site is quite possible. Disturbance of the old nest is not relevant.
A raptor's nest is commonly referred to as an "eyrie" or "aerie." These nests are typically built high in trees, on cliffs, or other elevated structures to provide safety from predators and easy access to hunting grounds. Raptors, such as eagles and hawks, often return to the same nesting site year after year.
Eagles will find a sturdy tree and then collect many things such as twigs, branches, corn stalks, bits and pieces of hay and straw. Really anything they can find to build a nest in the tree. It takes months for them to build a nest from scratch and this is the reason the eagle will come back to the same nest year after year until the nest grows too big for the tree and they have to start again
Bald eagles make a nest of sticks, returning each year and adding on til the nest can weigh nearly a ton.
