well the mocking bird is a contrary so yes the answer is yes
I read somewhere that the ones that sing at night are males that do not have a mate.

I don't know WHY..but I do know that the mockingbirds that had been singing at the tops of their lungs all Spring are silent during Dog Days. They still come to my feeder; they still sit on the wires and glare at my cat; but they don't make a sound.

It is still a mystery to why humpback whales sing. One theory is that it could attract a possible mate. IT IS CERTAINLY A MYSTERY ON WHAT THEY SING ABOUT!
I think its a whale when they sing for a mate.
