They are real. See this webpage: http://www.telusmobility.com/about/company_background_ff.shtml
Toyota commercials, like all commercials, are scripted, performed, and then edited. They are filmed with real people, though there very well may be CGI or other details added in editing.
There are lots of websites that list songs from advertisements. The two I know of are www.adtunes.com and www.songtitle.info/ I'm sure there are more. I hear that Telus often lists their songs on their website, although I haven't been able to find that link myself... You can find the link for the Mobility songs here http://www.telusmobility.com/coolstuff/advertising.shtml and for the TELUS songs in BC and AB here http://www.telus.com/cgi-ebs/jsp/viewitem.do?category=cat_8685&Region=B Enjoy. CGi
difference between cgi and non cgi sites
2010 was created in 1984, which was too early for significant amounts of CGI. The only CGI SciFi that predated this couldn't possibly have been mistaken for real (eg: Tron or Startrek: Wrath of Khan). Most of it was done with models and sets and a bit of trick photography just like 2001. There was a bit of CGI used in the movie which you can find on the wikipedia page for the movie.
CGI animation can be used to create more realistic textures, and accurate reproduction models of real actors or actresses. CGI can be used as a replacement for stunt work, which can make it a lot safer for actors (or stunt doubles), since they do not have to perform dangerous tasks.
