How are animals insulated?

Different animals insulate themselves differently. For example animals such as polar bears , dogs , cats have thick hair to keep them warm while penguins have thick skin and lots of fat to keep them warm. Similarly sheep have wool and so on.

Like humans, mammals regulate their body temperature internally, most species have fur to help keep warm. Reptiles need to regulate their body temps. externally (to keep warm they lay in sun, to keep cool they stay in the shade or in water, depending on habitat).

If you are referring to insulin shots then it can actually be from Diabetes. If you mean insulated as in fur, then its too keep in body heat much like our hair on our heads.
