Almost all forest animals try to avoid man, because man is a hunter, and can be very dangerous to animals. There are only a few animals with strong defenses which do not fear man. For example, skunks and porcupines. Some forest animals will approach man when they smell food and are very hungry. Some examples are bears, raccoons and coyotes.
For the animals that live there it is their habitat, so they behave normally.
The indigenous people for so for food, this is OK, they are part of the forest. However outsiders do so for selfish reasons and show how bad mankind is are caring for nature.
