Scorpions are arachnids characterized by their elongated bodies, segmented tails, and pincers. They typically have a robust, claw-like pair of pedipalps and eight legs. Their bodies are usually covered in a tough exoskeleton, which can vary in color from tan to dark brown or even black. The tail ends in a stinger, which they use for defense and to capture prey.
