The olive ridley sea turtle typically lays between 100 to 150 eggs in a single nesting event. However, some nests can contain as few as 50 eggs or as many as 200. Females usually nest multiple times during a nesting season, which occurs every one to three years. After laying eggs, the female returns to the sea, leaving the eggs to incubate in the sand.
