Sometimes... It actually depends on what kind of living thing it is.... And for what reason... And mostly what type of oil... There are lots of questions that can be asked with just that one question... So you see... That one question is thought provoking...

For one, chemicals from the oil can enter the bodies of sea creatures and cause them death.
Nuclear fuels plants all pose a problem because they have radioactive waste which is very poisonous to living things. Many of these plants leak into ground water, or purposely discharge into oceans or seas.
Oil will float to the surface of the water.So,any living things in the water cannot get any oxygen and they will die .

The oil spill essentially affected many things. It affected people, animals, the economy, the air, the Gulf of Mexico and many more things. The oil spill is considered the biggest world problem out there, and for this to be bigger then Haiti, war, even education, it obviously has affected many things out there.
