Yes! Lymph is an important part of the circulatory system. It helps maintain the fluid balance in blood by carrying fluid from extracellular environments into the blood stream (such as water, proteins, and other substances). Lymph also plays a primary role in one's immunity because it is rich in white blood cells (lymph nodes are also the sight for lymphocyte production, which remove microorganisms and other foreign materials by utilization of phagocytosis). The two main ducts that drain lymph into the bloodstream include: 1.) right lymphatic duct- drains lymph from upper right portion of body into the right subclavian vein. 2.) thoracic duct- drains lymph from the rest of the body to the left subclavian vein (just before it becomes the superior vena cava).

What is difference between serum and lymph?

Serum is in the blood vessels (circulating blood). Lymph is the plasma that diffuses through the arteries (used to be part of the blood) into the lymph system. Once it flows through the lymph system, it will rejoin with blood through veins.

Similarities between blood and lymph?

both are vascular connective tissues

Do lymphocytes spend little time in the blood?

Where does lymph come from?

Lymph comes from the interstitial fluids spaces in blood where interstitial fluid is found. Lymph is composed mainly of white blood cells.

What is the Difference between blood and lymph?

lymph caries digested and absorbed fat from intestine and drains excess fluid from extra cellular space back into blood. Lymph is basically blood plasma without the blood cells, the fluid that is forced out of capillaries to clean and nourish cells. The part of it that does not return to the blood vessels is picked up by lymph vessels and eventually returned to the blood.

What fluid forms lymph?

Lymph is basically the same as the plasma from the blood. Lymph is formed when plasma leaks out of blood vessels into the interstitial space.

What is Difference between tissue fluid and lymph?

when lymph fluid is contained inside lymph vessels or lymph node(lymphatic system) it is called lymph whereas when it is squeezed out of cells b/w the cell membranes it is called tissue fluid

Difference between blood and lymph?

Blood is a fluid that circulates in the cardiovascular system, carrying oxygen, nutrients, hormones, and waste products to and from cells. Lymph is a clear fluid that circulates in the lymphatic system, helping to remove toxins, waste, and pathogens from the body while also transporting white blood cells to fight infection. Blood is pumped by the heart, while lymph flows more slowly and relies on external factors like muscle contraction for movement.

Do lymph nodes filter lymph?

lymph capillary Lymph fluid is filtered in lymph nodes. Lymph nodes are along lymph vessels which that run along blood vessels. Lymph vessels draw in interstitial fluid (fluid between cells) and it them becomes lymph fluid. Lymph nodules are in connective tissue in place of high traffic and does not function as a filter because it's not along a lymph vessel.

How does blood differ from lymph?

The lymph and blood has few difference like ,the blood has colour , contains hemoglobin , contains RBC ,WBS, platelets ,flows from heart to organs nd vica verseThe lymph is colourless or light yellow fluid, does not contain hematologic, , flows in one direction only that is frm tissues to heart.
