it would not be the basset hound for sure, it would be one of the breeds in the bull dog family. My opinion is the french bulldog, it is even to lazy to reproduce and is rated 32nd best city dog in America.

The English Bulldog is probably the laziest dog breed on the planet. Bulldogs are not very energetic and their short snouts make breathing difficult for them. This consequently causes bulldogs to do poorly when it comes to athletics/agility. None the less the bulldog has been able to carve itself a niche as the world's happiest couch potato.

The laziest animal in the world is the koala. It sleeps most of the day.(which is approximately 22-23 hours a day because of their low calorie diet of eucalyptus leaves)
