No, King Solomon was a good king judging Israel for 40 years peacefully.

Unfortunately, later in life, due to disobedience to God's word forbidding a King to have many wives, Solomon married many foreign women who were also not believers in the one true God. Scripture records that these wives led his heart away from God and ultimately into idolatry.

Despite this, his reign was indeed a high point in the history of Israel, in terms of both territory, wealth and the building program he initiated, particularly the temple, included in the list of the seven wonders of the ancient world. He also authored the books of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Solomon, the second of which shows some of the questioning and loss of faith which beset him.
