The ideal water parameters for keeping mollies healthy in an aquarium are a temperature between 75-82F, pH level between 7.5-8.5, and water hardness of 20-30 dGH. It is also important to maintain good water quality with regular water changes and proper filtration.
Mollies are a type of freshwater fish and do not require salt in their water. In fact, adding salt to their tank can be harmful to them. It is best to keep mollies in freshwater with good quality water parameters.

In an aquarium, fish like Siamese algae eaters, mollies, and certain types of snails are known to eat black algae.
Guppies, Platties, Swordtails and Mollies. there are a few others, but you likely won't see them in the aquarium trade.
It's difficult to provide an exact number of mollies on Earth, as they are a diverse group of fish that include various species within the Poecilia genus, such as the popular freshwater aquarium fish, the sailfin molly. Their populations can vary widely based on habitat, environmental conditions, and human impact. Additionally, mollies are widely bred in captivity for the aquarium trade, complicating estimates of their total numbers. Overall, while specific population counts are not readily available, mollies are abundant in their natural habitats.
No They are really a helpful fish in you tank most of the time they eat any grow algae growing your fish tank they add wonderful color into your tank and they are very active and have hundreds of live babies
Guppies, mollies and platys become pregnant and give birth to their young, live, instead of laying eggs.
Yes most of the time, I'm referring to mollies mating with mollies, guppies mating with guppies, not mollies mating with guppies. I have seen platies and swordtails bred. There is a reason why this can happen. Platys and Swordtails are from the same Genus (Xiphorous) The Swordtail is X. hellerii. The Platty is X. maculatus.
Not very long. We originally started out with 4 mollies in a 5 gallon aquarium. About 3 months later we realized 4 had turned into 17! Now they are in a 35 gallon aquarium and theres more! We have now had many babies, and watched them grow. Takes them about 6 months to become 2 inches long.
Like any other fish Mollies need good conditions. Ample room, (1"of fish=1Gal water+ 6sq" surface area) ample food and water parameters to suit them are not hard to provide. They are essentially algae eaters but also like a bit of live food too. Comming from warm brackish waters a temp around 70F and a little salt added (1tsp per Gal) would be appreciated.
If your Mollies smell then you are not looking after their water properly. The basic rules for keeping fish healthy are :- 1 inch of fish needs a minimum of 1 gallon of water :- every tank needs a cycled filter running permanently :- every tank needs to have at least 50% of its water changed every week. If you are missing out on any of the above your fish will not last long.
It is recommended to have no more than 3-4 mollies in a 6 gallon aquarium to ensure they have enough space to swim and thrive. Overcrowding can lead to stress, aggression, and poor water quality.
