The most accurate method to determine if someone is allergic to cats is through an allergy test for cat dander. This test specifically looks for antibodies that react to cat allergens, providing a more precise diagnosis compared to a skin prick test.
Nut and Peanut Allergy
It is possible for someone allergic to horses to also be allergic to camels. The allergy is most likely to the dander, and horses and camels can have similar dander.
You can't get aspirin without the allergy-triggering compound, because the allergy-triggering compound is aspirin ... acetylsalicylic acid.
Whether you are allergic to metals or not, you can not take colloidal sliver. That is poisonous.
No, someone with a shellfish allergy should not consume dishes made with oyster sauce as it contains ingredients derived from shellfish and can trigger an allergic reaction.
Plz, someone answer! I have NO clue and really want a kitten.
This depends to what "nut allergy" refers. A tree nut allergy would include "true" nuts, including sunflower seeds, almonds, cashews, etc. A peanut allergy is actually to a legume, so eating sunflower seeds would be safe as long as they were not processed in a plant that also processes peanuts or peanut-containing products.
The coconut is not a botanical nut, it's a fruit, so I don't think you can have nut allergies towards it.
The reason why shellfish allergy is asked is because of the link between shellfish allergy and iodine allergy (shellfish are rich in iodine). That does not mean that if your allergic to shellfish then you are allergic to iodine - you may be allergic to another component that is in the shellfish. Iodine is used in the thyroid scan as a dye and is injected into your veins. If you are allergic then the reaction would be quite quick and potentially serious. Asking about a shellfish allergy is to try to risk stratify those that may be more susceptible for a reaction and "prepare" the technician / radiologist for the worse case scenario. The main allergic reaction we would be worried about would be true anaphylaxis (if you've not heard of this then you probably not had it). Rashes and facial swelling would indicate a allergic reaction. Sickness, diarrhea and feeling "off" would suggest an intolerance rather than a true allergic reaction. Happy New Year! El Tango
yes! some people are only allergic to rubber (elastic, latex, spandex) which has been bleached or treated with rubber accelerators. Other people are allergic to latex, spandex, tires, pencil erasers, tennis balls, condoms, hairbrushes. They put rubber everywhere! Take it from me, I have a TRUE latex allergy. with a true latex allergy, an exposure leads to at least three weeks of contact dermatitis. For someone with this allergy, that includes spandex in jeans (which is bad because it is treated with lots of the rubber accelerator which is sometimes the real allergy)
Well you clean your mouth first with mouthwash ex. Listerine. Then you can kiss because a shellfish allergy is very sensitive. ---- If you want to kiss someone with a shellfish allergy, then you DON'T eat shellfish. I'd say a week.
While water chestnuts are not tree nuts and are generally well tolerated by those with tree nut allergies, it is still possible for someone with a tree nut allergy to also be allergic to water chestnuts. An allergic reaction to water chestnuts in a person with a tree nut allergy would be classified as a separate allergy, not a cross-reaction. It is always best to consult with a healthcare provider for personalized advice and guidance.
