The dorsal side of a biped is it's back and the ventral side is the abdomen.
The opposite of it's dorsal. The Dorsal is the back, Ventral is the Front. Hence the dorsal fin on ocean-based organisms
dorsal
Frogs usually have a dark green or brown dorsal color and a white or yellowish ventral color. This helps them blend in with the water surface from above and the water surface from below as well giving protection from underwater and above water predators.
dorsal
The 'dorsal-fin' extends upward from the back of organisms; so anything Ventral must reside near to an organism's front-side.
The ventral side is lighter than the dorsal.
The ventral side is the opposite of the dorsal side in anatomy.
Dorsal and ventral roots are a feature of spinal nerves only. Cranial nerves do not have dorsal and ventral roots.
Upper part darker, can see venation more clearly. Upper part (ventral) originates from xylem. Lower part (dorsal) originates from phloem. Do not confuse with other denominations of dorsal/ventral.
The ventral side is lighter than the dorsal.
ventral
For animals in general : the anterior (as opposed to posterior) For mammals : the forequarters (as opposed to the hindquarters) For insects : head and thorax (as opposed to the abdomen)
