Hydromedusae are a class of jellyfish that primarily feed on small planktonic organisms such as copepods, fish larvae, and other tiny invertebrates. They use their tentacles equipped with specialized stinging cells called nematocysts to capture and immobilize their prey. Once the prey is immobilized, the hydromedusae use their tentacles to bring the food to their mouth located in the center of their bell for digestion.

Jellyfish's lifespan ranges dependent on breed. Some only live for a few hours, while others have the ability to live 2-6 months. Jellyfish kept in captivity that have been well cared for have been known to live for years, but none have been known to do so in the wild.
