A baby cormorant, often referred to as a chick, is typically covered in soft, downy feathers that are gray or white in color. They have a small, slender body with a relatively large head and a short neck. Their beaks are not fully developed, appearing smaller and less robust than those of adult cormorants. As they grow, their plumage will gradually darken and become more similar to that of adult cormorants.
