A bolt-out, often referred to as a "bolt-out" or "bolt extractor," is a tool used to remove stripped or damaged bolts. It typically has a tapered, spiral design that grips the bolt as it is turned counterclockwise. The extractor is usually made from hardened steel to withstand the torque required for removal. These tools come in various sizes to accommodate different bolt diameters.
