Efforts to help chimpanzees include habitat conservation, anti-poaching initiatives, and rehabilitation programs for rescued individuals. Organizations like the Jane Goodall Institute and the World Wildlife Fund work to protect their natural habitats from deforestation and human encroachment. Additionally, sanctuaries provide care for chimpanzees rescued from the pet trade or research facilities, promoting their well-being and rehabilitation. Conservation education and advocacy are also crucial in raising awareness about their plight and the need for protection.
If chimpanzees were stopped from being killed, they could repopulate.
A United Nation of peace messanger help the chimpanzees from the illegal hunters that were trying to kill the chimpanzees. Her name was Jane Goodall that was the protecter of the chimpanzees.

Chimpanzees
Well, I have done some research and no chimpanzees do not cause aids. What cause aids was the HIV or Human immunodeficiency virus.
They have done everything from injecting them with AIDS and various kinds of Hepatitis to smashing their teeth with ball bearings so dental students can reconstruct their mouths. See Next of Kin: My Conversations with Chimpanzees (1997) by Roger Fouts for more.
