The wool of the domestic sheep, especially that of the Merino, is the densest wool and they have been bred to produce it in high quantities.

Most animals that have a dense under coat that can be harvested as it sheds have an exterior coat that makes them appear wooley but this is not actually the "wool"

component of the animal.
