Well, actually the one my dog just dug up was making sounds like a bird chirping sound, as in a young robin or sparrow makes. Since it was nearly dark outside at the time, I wondered why a little bird would be trying to burrow into the lawn, until I got a light. It was a fully mature mole, making chirping sounds!
