That is not correct. For there is no true religion. Personally there is 1 higher being, God if you will, and all religions are just certain peoples way of getting to the higher being. And it doesn't matter how just as long as it brings you peace and tranquility in your life... so to say that 1 religion is better than another is an ignorant comment to say.
Could also look at religion as a way to form a perfect society.. i mean w/o religion people would be More murderous, thievish, or just plan wrong. It shows how a perfect society would live w/o a government. So i think its safe to say that religion was created by a group of geniuses bent on making chaos, give false hope, or was to uniform everyone. To believe that there is a pain or punishment in the after life would and does keep people in line, most of the time. But to think it was created from scholars would destroy the foundation of all religrion for any organized religrion would be wrong but personal worship of a higher power would not be for there is no conformaty.
