Whats the difference between licensing and registering your puppy?

Licensing is when you get a license from the county you live in, saying that that dog is someones pet (yours), and it lives in your county.

Registering is when you get papers for your puppy that says it is a 'purebreed' dog. These are mostly only used for showing dogs.
