Flies are attracted to dogs because they are drawn to the scent of their fur, especially if the dog has a strong odor or if there are areas of moisture or food residue on their body. Flies may also be attracted to wounds or sores on the dog's skin. Keeping your dog clean and using preventative measures like flea and tick treatments can help reduce the presence of flies.
They do so to lay eggs
After a dog defecates, flies are drawn to their fecal matter. The flies eat what they want and then mate and lay eggs in the feces. Flies try to always lay eggs where their young will have something to eat as soon as they are able. So the fly larvae (maggots) hatch and grow in the dog mess.
cuz jim schneider says so
Green flies tend to land on dog feces so if there is a dog in the house this is where they will come from. These types of flies are commonly found on farms.

flies
Flies like anything stinky, it wouldn't make much difference to them if it was from a dog or a human.
em well it depends if your dog sleeps outside and if so in a kennel. Its backside may be dirty and it probably will attract the flies. that also means that you need to use a good shampoo for your dog. I myself have two staffies and i use normal shampoo on them and also i have never noticed that on my dogs.
the nutrients in the poo
