Goldfish come to the top of the water to breathe air because they have a special organ called a labyrinth organ that allows them to take in oxygen from the surface.
Fish comes top of the water to get oxygen.
It is normal most every goldfish does it, don't worry.
The fresh water part .... Goldfish apparently come from Asia, however they don't live in the ocean because goldfish are fresh water fish.
It is either well trained or dead.
using their gills they obtain oxygen from the top of the water.
Goldfish may hang out at the top of the tank because they are trying to get more oxygen from the surface of the water. This behavior can indicate that the water in the tank may not have enough oxygen for them to breathe comfortably.
generally a special formulated fish food is sprinkled on the top of the water, and the fish will come to the surface and eat. there are also automated feeders for large tanks.
Because your goldfish is dead.
Yes. goldfish breathe water so if a goldfish is out of water it cant breathe so it will suffocate
A goldfish can live in an opaque glass tank as long as you keep up with necessary water changes. Like a small outside garden pond goldfish are only viewed from the top.
Most fish including goldfish naturally (instinctively) hide when a shadow passes over their water. If they come to the surface when they see a shadow passing over the tank/pond, they are assuming that food is going to be put there. This is a learned and remembered response. (Who said Goldfish only have a 3 second memory?)
I don't know if it is normal or not, but my sister had goldfish that would jump out of their tank when she would walk into the room. She would have to scoop them up and put them back in.
