∙ 13y agoIf you are religioush, you could say God needed something to inhabit the Earth.
However, from a scientific point of view, there is no WHY, it just kind of... happened. Proteins started bonding and creating compounds, which evolved into single-celled organisms. These organisms (like bacteria) grew more and more complex until millions of years later, you have the animals we see today.
