Why do animals seem as bad as they are?

Animals are as bad as they are because humans are destroying their kind. Most animals, only are fierce because they have their kids to care for so they want to protect them as much as possible. That is another reason why animals are mean sometimes. But it doesn't mean that we have to kill them just because they are trying to protect something that means a lot to them.

Because they are profiled against and abused by most people, just like the Tuscon incident.

I assume you mean all animals, in which case it is because of their nature. Territorial and predatory nature. Humans, wild cats, domesticated animals. Some--humans primarily--may seem to be more civilized, but when it really comes down to survival and whatever else, all animals are savage.
