Why does my shitzu poop in the middle of roads sidewalks and porches when not leashed?

I guess because it was never taught to go to the bathroom in a yard or litter box. Just have it on a leash when it has to go to the bathroom at the areas you want it to for a while, and soon, when you think it's ready, let it go by itself and see if it learned where it should go to the bathroom.
