More than 100 million animals every year suffer and die in cruel chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics tests as well as in Biology lessons, medical training exercises, and curiosity-driven medical experiments at universities. Exact numbers aren't available because mice, rats, birds, and cold-blooded animals-who make up more than 95 percent of animals used in experiments-are not covered by even the minimal protections of the Animal Welfare Act and therefore go uncounted.
1 obviously, be smart
about 100 animals have been abused in the entire united states.=actually there are more because there are 12 animals used for only animal testing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So if there are 12 for testing there must be more due to testing is practically suffering of innocent animals FYI,,, suffering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!=
In addition to the animals killed in animal testing, farmed animals are abused and killed in numbers so staggering as to be almost incomprehensible:Globally, the annual death toll for these farmed land animals exceeds 70 billion. That’s nearly 191 million every day, or nearly 8 million every hour, 133,000 every minute, or about 2,220 every second. The number of aquatic animals killed annually for food is in the trillions.Around 9 billion farmed land animals are killed each year in the U.S. alone (about one million every hour; nearly 17 thousand every minute; around 278 every second).
About 22 animals die every second in testing labs around the world each second. So 22 x 32,536,000(seconds in a calendar year) = 693,792,000 animals die every year.
approximately 280 000
Every year millions of animals are poisoned, blinded, and killed in crude chemical tests being forced to inhale chemicals that are bad to the body.Animal testing costs the American public over $136 billion annually.Drugs that pass animal tests end up harming or killing humans about 61% of the time.Between 25 and 50 billion animals are meaninglessly killed in laboratories each year.50% of the animals used for cosmetic testing, 50% die two to three weeks after being tested.
60-100 million
i love rabbits they are so cool in every way
30% of the world wide animals are getting killed from faliure testing.
its 60-40 because the hardware stores, home aplainces, and clothe shops don't use animal testing. And also did you know our makeup and perfume and some drugstore products ( not every drug store ) that make them sick, blind, deaf, or just paralyzed can be sold at very few store around the world.
For the against side I would say that it is cruel to test animals. They actually take the mascara wands and jab the poor little animal in the eye with it to see if it hurts. Many of the animals end up dying because of this treatment. And for the for side I would say it is good because if we don't test things first, then we might be in danger of the same things that we are putting the animals in: cancer risk, pain, etc etc etc.
It is difficult to provide an exact number as testing practices vary by country and institution. However, it is estimated that millions of animals are used in research and testing worldwide each year. Efforts are being made to reduce and refine animal testing practices wherever possible.
