Yes, they can. When you introduce a new guinea pig to your home you should give it a day or to to adjust before bonding.
you can get mini pigs (or teacup, micro piglets) online or if you know someone. although it is better to get them from a breeder you trust because lots of "backyard breeders" tend to sell regular piglets that grow into 300 pound pigs. i highly recommend texas tiny pigs. but thats just me.

Just give them about two weeks to adjust to their new home.
Yes, of course you should install smoke alarms in the new home you are building. Smoke alarms should be in every home , old and new.
It means they are not well so you should take them to the vets
Micro VAV are VAV dampers from Micro Matic.
You can buy Guinea Pigs at any thime of year! I bought mine in June which is winter time in Australia. But yes, you should have no problem finding your new piggy :)
Unfortunately, no you cannot. The US Government requires that in order to get a micro-chipped passport, you must get a new passport.
It's best to keep them in the same cage for about a week. And you have to put them in the same cage together for about and hour each day after that for a while. I have 3 male guinea pigs at home and usually the guinea pig who came into the family or home first will try to show the other guinea pigs who is in charge (Or dominant). It usually takes about a week to two weeks for the guinea pigs to work it out and become great buddies.
Pigs are pack animals. If they are the same size and get along, then they will be fine. It is difficult to introduce a new animal to the pack. If you have a few pigs of similar size, keep them together so that they don't get bored and destructive. Reasons to separate pigs are quarantine, fighting, and farrowing.
