Roman Catholic AnswerThere is precious little known about St. David outside of legend, and most of that was written over five hundred years after his death. St. David was a bishop, and is the patron saint of Wales. There is strong indication that he was a Benedictine monk. If so, he would have followed a mostly vegetarian diet when he was well, but this is mostly presupposition based on St. Benedict's rule. When St. David was appointed Bishop, he no longer would have been bound by the Rule.
