It basically refers to communist Russia. You have Napoleon who was Josef Stalin. Snowball who was trovsky. Old major who could have possible been Vladimir Lenin and Moses who definitely represented all religions during that time.
Animal Farm was intended as an allegorical novel. It does, however, contain symbolism within it to explain and support the allegory.
In the movie, "Animal Farm," examples of verbal irony are used about communism and dictatorship. One example is the line stating that "all animals are equal but that some animals have more authority than most."
because without symbolism nobody would understand why he wrote the book and what it stood for George Orwell is poking fun at Stalin and the KGB. For example Stalin is Napolean while the KGB are the dogs.
"may men of merit be motivated to act!" is an alliteration quote from Old Major in the book animal farm.
Squealer uses a variety of techniques that convince the animals of Animal Farm of whatever Napoleon desires. He is talented at deception by lying and the animals are easily gullible to it.
All animals are equal but some are more equal than others.
There are several examples of Allusion in Animal Farm. The name 'Moses' is the name of the raven who represents religion. The name 'Napoleon' represents Stalin, who was a cruel dictator just like the original Napoleon.
Mollie was a horse in Animal Farm.
The ten commandments are a good example because of the amount of control it has over the animals
The first animal to die on the farm (while it's still known as "Manor Farm") is Old Major. The first animal to die after the farm was renamed "Animal Farm" is a sheep in the Battle of the Cowshed.
Well i wouldn't GET a FARM ANIMAL but if i did i would get the cow. they r the best farm animal. =)
