The animal farm is supposed to represent Russia. George Owell wrote the whole book based on the situation during 2nd World War among the strong countries in Europe, namely Russia, Germany and Britain. Through the book, the plot progresses along with the events that actually happened in history itself during WW2 among these 2 countries. For example, Joseph Stalin was trying to promote his idea of industrailization in Russia and used that to brain-wash and motivate Russians to work harder. The living conditions in Russia was really tough and things did not look good for the people. However, Stalin's power and dictatorships makes people put in trust in him and work really hard to achieve their goal of industrailization for Russia. This incident is parallel to the animals in the farm trying to build the windmill. Napoleon represents Stalin, who was the dictator and had the dogs to threaten whoever who tries to defy him, just like Stalin's police force. No one had the courage to defy Napoleon. Napoleon seized the opportunity and motivated the animals to work hard to complete the windmill. Meanwhile, he exploited his people by robbing them of their precious stuff, like Napoleon taking away the hens' eggs. In so doing, Napoleon uses the money made to by stuff for himself, like him buying whisky. Hence, studying the history and events during WW2 among Russia, Britain and Germany will prove very useful is one wants to understand more about the book.NOT
