well, since they sacrificed several people a day and they were a huge empire, i think they got treated badly. it was for a good cause though!
In Maya society, slaves were usually prisoners of war, criminals, or individuals who were in debt and had to work off their debts. They were often used as laborers for construction, agriculture, and domestic work. Slavery was a common practice in Maya civilization, with slaves having limited rights and being considered the property of their owners.
In Maya society, commoners were free individuals who could own property, engage in trade, and hold various occupations. Slaves, on the other hand, were individuals who were captured in warfare, sold into slavery, or born into slave families. They were considered property and typically performed labor for their owners without pay.
Slaves sometimes ate manure out of desperation when they were not given sufficient food to eat. Manure, though not nutritious, may have provided some form of sustenance when they were deprived of adequate food by their oppressors.
Again, this depends upon the tribe. Some adopted the slaves and they became part of a family, to replace, perhaps, a child who died. Some tribes treated their slaves harshly, but fairly, while still others, treated the slaves as nothing more than a work animal. As in other cultures, it depended solely upon who had the slaves...
Commoners were free individuals who belonged to the lower social classes in Maya society. They were able to own land, engage in trade, and hold certain positions of authority. Slaves, on the other hand, were individuals who were considered property and had no legal rights. They were often captured in warfare or born into slavery and were forced to provide labor and service to their owners without any personal autonomy or freedom.
they were treated bad
Slaves in the south were treated poorly because they often disobeyed their owners by refusing to work.
Bad
The maya treated enslaved people by heavy labor or household chores.
because they were treated harshly, overworked, and were in bad physical condition. they were treated like property and were harshly beaten and discriminated.
they were treated as slaves, bearly getting feed. always having to work
Slave traders treated the slaves disrespectfully mainly because they thought of the slaves as nothing but money.
The slaves were not treated good at all I guess you can try to imagine jail now and then multiply it by 100 and then you will see how the slaves were treated.
Historically, slaves have been treated poorly, subjected to physical abuse, exploitation, and denied basic human rights. The practice of slavery has been universally condemned for its inhumane and unjust treatment of individuals.
They were treated differently in different city-states, such as Sparta (Which is where I am from) called them hoplites and didn't really care about their slaves, they were usually prisoners of war, they treated them harshly and were beaten on occasion when they did something bad or wrong, and they were at the bottom of the hierarchy. Athens treated slaves more respectfully but they were still at the bottom of the hierarchy.
The Maya used prisoners of war for various purposes, including as sacrificial offerings in religious ceremonies, as laborers in construction projects, as slaves, or as ransom for wealth or territory. They were often treated as commodities rather than as equals.
slaves were treated with no respect at all ( thank god its illegal)
