Most archaeologists now think the answer is dogs, who were domesticated some 15-20,000 years ago. A close second are sheep (and bees!).
Homo erectus was likely the first hominin species to tame fire, using it for warmth, cooking food, and protection against predators. This ability helped them expand their range, adapt to new environments, and gain a competitive advantage over other species.
The term "homo" in the name Homo erectus identifies the genus of the species.
The plural form of Homo habilis is Homo habilis, the plural form of Homo erectus is Homo erectus, and the plural form of Homo sapiens is Homo sapiens.
Australopithecus species, such as Australopithecus afarensis, appeared earlier in the evolutionary timeline than Homo erectus. Australopithecus species existed around 4 to 2 million years ago, while Homo erectus emerged around 1.9 million years ago.
Homo erectus was the first species to travel outside of Africa. They migrated to different parts of Asia and Europe over a million years ago.
The evolutionary order goes Homo habilis, Homo erectus, Neanderthals, and Homo sapiens. Homo habilis appeared around 2.8 million years ago, followed by Homo erectus around 2 million years ago, Neanderthals around 400,000 years ago, and finally Homo sapiens around 300,000 years ago.

Actually the very first hominid to use fire was Homo Erectus.

I believe that it is homo erectus because they were the first to move out of africa. The Australopithecus's were confined to africa, even if you count Robustus. Homo habilis were contemporaries with erectus during the early erectus years, so they too were stuck in africa.
Homo erectus - album - was created in 1997.
Homo erectus tautavelensis was created in 1971.
