The fossils of Java Man, now classified as Homo erectus, were discovered by Eugène Dubois in 1891-1892 on the Indonesian island of Java. Dubois, a Dutch anatomist and paleontologist, made this significant discovery in the Trinil area during his search for human ancestors in Southeast Asia.
Homo erectus was first discovered by Dutch physician and anatomist Eugène Dubois in Java, Indonesia in the late 1800s. Dubois believed the fossil belonged to an early human ancestor and named it Pithecanthropus erectus.
Homo erectus fossils were first discovered in Java, Indonesia by Eugène Dubois in the late 19th century. Subsequent discoveries have been made in various parts of Asia, Africa, and Europe.
Java Man, an early human ancestor, likely lived around 1.5 million years ago in what is now Indonesia. They were believed to have lived in tropical forests, Stone Age tools suggest they were likely scavengers and hunters, surviving on a diet of plants, fruits, and meat from hunting animals. Their survival as a species was dependent on their ability to adapt to their environment and evolving social structures.
Homo erectus is believed to have spread from Africa to parts of Europe and Asia, with fossil remains found in regions such as Java, China, and Georgia. Their spread is seen as an early example of human migration out of Africa.
Homo erectus javanensis is a subspecies of Homo erectus found on the island of Java in Indonesia. They are an extinct species of early humans that existed around 1.6 million to 100,000 years ago. They are known for their significant tool-making abilities and evidence of fire use.

I like to think it's because of the connection to "Java man" (Pithecanthropus erectus): it's primitive and an evolutionary dead end. However, the official story is that the programmers drank a lot of coffee while creating it.
Africa then lived from Africa to china even to Java
technology and brain size
they had many nicknames including upright man, peking man, and java man.
Homo erectus lived throughout Africa, North to Georgia, Turkey and France, and South and East into China, India and Java. See related links below for map
java was discovered by James gosling and Co. in 1991 at sun micro systems..they renamed oak to java..initially java used in programming for set top boxes (for movie on demand..)
The Java man discovered Indonesia
not a clue.
The ancient people who now inhabit it.
No one discovered it, it wasn't found hidden deep within an Aztec tomb, and then decoded - it was invented. By James Gosling, I think.
