Because they had no education and didn't know how to build shelters.

Don't under-estimate them. They had sufficient collective experience to look after themsleves and their fellows. If they were in areas that lack suitable caves they would have known how to make some sort of shelter from whatever was to hand, but if in an area offering roomy, dry caves (which are by no means as common as you'd think) then obviously they'd choose the best caves.

No, cave paintings and evidence of human habitation in caves date back much further than 100 BC. The earliest known cave paintings were created more than 30,000 years ago by early humans. The term "cavemen" generally refers to prehistoric humans who lived in caves, so their existence predates 100 BC by thousands of years.

Cavemen got that name because they often lived in natural caves rather than building homes. These early humans were found all around the world, including Asia, Europe, and in North and South America.
its in the name...... caves...
Cavemen did not dig their own caves. They typically sought shelter in natural caves or rock formations, or they constructed simple shelters using leaves, branches, and animal skins. It's unlikely that they had the tools or technology to dig extensive underground dwellings.
They were men that lived in caves.
No and yes. Some people live in caves but have real clothing. Those are homeless though. (So sad) And no because Actual cavemen evolved into modern people like us. No real, actual cavemen but people who live in caves. (As I said so sad)
Probably cavemen when they were looking for caves to live in. No one discovered Portugal. Not like the discovery of America at least.

Cavemen typically resided towards the entrance of said cave because of methane gas that would leak into the caves from underground, thus staying near the exit gave for plenty of ventilation.
cavemen made pictures on the walls of caves

They didn't, they ran out of caves, made their own and called them houses.
