What GM products did the 2 speed powerglide come in?
Chevrolet & Pontiac were the only brands to use to
Powerglide. The rear engine Corvair used a modified Powerglide.
Pontiac used a similar transmission in the Tempest although it was
called a TempesTorque'.
Some sources claim Pontiac and Oldsmobile used the older,
cast-iron case Powerglide when the Hydromatic transmission plant
burned in '53.
Most if not all Pontiacs of the '60's and '70's that have a
two-speed automatic transmission do NOT have a Powerglide; they
have a Turbo-Hydramatic model 300 transmission; also used by
Oldsmobile.
