Open the trunk lid. On the left side of the trunk, up around where the hinge is, you'll see a little plastic tank with a screw-on cap--that's the brake reservoir. That's where it's SUPPOSED to be, but I've seen people move them around for various reasons. I know a few people who've put them behind the spare tire--this way, they won't have to worry about slopping brake fluid on their paint.
is the brake and clutch reservior integral on a 2001 vw passat tdi
The brake fluid reservoir is attached to the master cylinder, it is located against the engine bay firewall(bulkhead) infront of the driver's seat.
In the trunk, on the left-side wall.
under the front hood under the spare tire
The reservoir is behind the drivers seat mounted to the half wall. Keep it within 3/4" from the filler neck.
Pretty sure it is in the dash. If you push forward on the instrument cluster housing it will come off and you will see the reservoir on the left.
To add brake fluid to a 2000 VW Beetle, open the hood and locate the brake fluid reservoir, which is usually found near the back of the engine compartment on the driver's side. The reservoir is typically a translucent plastic container with a cap labeled "brake fluid." Unscrew the cap and add the appropriate type of brake fluid (usually DOT 4) until it reaches the recommended level marked on the reservoir. Be careful not to spill any fluid, as it can damage the car's paint.
Open hood, look at the rear right of the engine compartment. You'll see a coolant tank. Near the tank you'll see the brake master cylinder with the plastic reservoir attached directly on top.
The brake fluid reservoir is behind the spare tire in the trunk...that would be the boot if you are a Brit. The trunk is in the front in case you hadn't noticed the motor was in the back.
In my 1965 Corvair, it is in the Front Hood (Cargo trunk), on the driver side by the windshield.
It is located under the front hood on the driver's side. It is up close to the dash on the driver's side. There will be a little holder for it with a strap holding it down.
