Atlantis was first brought to the public"s attention by the Greek Philosopher Plato in abot 360 BC. ( so, Plato boxes the compass- B.C.) the compass circle is of course, 360 degrees. There are no independent sources for Atlantis ( Ex-Platonic) To the best of my knowledge no artifacts such as coins, statues, urns, or related durable objects have ever been attributed to Atlantis proper- and Greece has thoroughly been gone-over by archaeologists for centuries. If it was in existence centuries before its demise ( no one-night stand like the Titanic) surely there would be artifacts of commerce and trade... so far none have been definitively proven to be from Atlantis. Another Lost Colony you might find interesting is Roanoke, VA.
No conclusive evidence has been found to support the existence of the mythical city of Atlantis or its inhabitants, whether people or animals. Atlantis remains a topic of speculation and debate among historians and archaeologists.
