Very pretty. Unlike today. The church stills stands, as does the Cross Keys pub, and the old vicarage next to it, used now, I believe, as offices. Up until the late 1960s there were old wooden houses opposite the church pulled down for 'improvement'. Exeter Road was a street lines with Victorian houses, these too were pulled down some time in the 1970s, and flats were built. I remember one in particular that was painted red and mauve. There were also Victorian houses down Vicarage Road.
