The Arawaks were a group of indigenous peoples who inhabited the Caribbean islands before the arrival of Europeans. They were skilled farmers, fishermen, and craftsmen, known for their peaceful nature and intricate pottery and art. Unfortunately, many Arawaks were enslaved and suffered from diseases brought by Europeans, leading to a significant decline in their population.
The Awaraks settled in the entire Caribbean archipelago. The Awaraks were known to be very gentle people and very peaceful. The tribe was slaughtered by the Spanish people over a period of decades.
Amerindians settled in the Caribbean. They migrated there and the 2 main groups, Awaraks and Caribs were the ones to settle in Caribbean.
I think English speaking people claim to have discoveredJamaica which was already inhabited by indigenous Taino Indians. Christopher Columbus said it was one of the most beautiful places he had seen before the people were enslaved by those that discovered them.
