Many Egyptian pyramids had fake passages and traps to deter tomb robbers. The complex layout and false corridors were meant to confuse and discourage thieves from reaching the burial chamber. This was part of the efforts to protect the valuable treasures and artifacts buried with the pharaohs.
Pharaohs did not typically install booby-traps in the pyramids. It is a popular myth perpetuated by Hollywood movies and storytelling. The pyramids were designed to protect the burial chambers from tomb robbers through architectural features like secret passages and heavy stone blocks.
The Egyptians used pyramids as tombs for pharaohs and important individuals, believing that they provided a pathway to the afterlife for the deceased. The pyramids were filled with treasures and goods to accompany the dead in the afterlife, and they were also designed to protect the mummies of the pharaohs and ensure their immortality.
Booby traps were meant to deter tomb robbers from stealing the treasures inside the pyramids. They were designed to surprise and harm intruders by using mechanisms such as falling rocks, poison darts, and hidden pits. The traps were a way to protect the valuable belongings of the deceased pharaohs buried in the tombs.
Dead-end passages and false burial chambers were added to pyramids to deter thieves and protect the actual burial chamber of the pharaoh from being looted. The complex layout was meant to confuse potential robbers and make it harder for them to find the true tomb. Additionally, these features were thought to have symbolic and mystical significance in guiding the pharaoh's soul to the afterlife.
The tomb robbers
The pyramids were tombs. However, they didn't do a great job of protecting the king's body from tomb robbers, because the pyramids were very visible tombs! They were robbed, so the kings who came after them realised that it was better to build a hidden tomb.

The pyramids were stopped being built because of three reasons. 1. to much time 2. to much money 3. tomb robbers found the pyramids easily and this led to them being robbed
Tombs were built because Pharoah's tombs were constantly robbed. Earlier, Pharoahs were buried in simple structures, and although many rooms were built to protect them, the tombs were still robbed. The Pharoahs were afraid taht the robbers would ruin their tombs, therefore, pyramids were built. The theives would still enter the pyramids, even though the entrances were closed. The Pharoahs decided to set traps and curses for theives inside the pyramids.
He feared his grave would be robbed/desecrated by grave robbers, so he had a curse inscribed on his tomb.
