well, when America was still the new world, on April 9, 1585, colonist decided to explore the new world again, landing on Roanoke island. Native Americans were there first, but friendly ones. They did not own any gold, cup. but the Native Americans where looking for treasure, they saw a silver cup, stole it, and made off. They accused them of stealing it, but they denied the true statement. So they decided to leave, burning down evrything. One of the captains divided the groups into two, one to chesapeak bay, and one up roanake river for gold and silver, they found none.Eve. Evenntually, they decided to stay on the island and hold it for the English. Soon later, boats were transporting people to Roanoke for colonization. On august 18,Eleanor dare made history by having the first baby born. They were starting to run out of food, and sent ship back to England to plead their case. Now they were alone. Theship, captained be john white had some trouble getting back, but i wont go into detail, but he did make it back to England. Now this is the creepy part. When white and his men returned, all was gone, everything. all that was left was four cannons, an empy treasure chest, and a few weeds. But the most important clue found was engraved on a tree, saying only CRO. at the entry of the remaining fort on the entry point was the entire thing, CROATAN,the home of their friend Manteo, and his tribe. When they reported to Plymouth, No one was found, which means that ralieghs colony was gone, of the face of the earth, that being 115 people. Later on in life, a tribe of "Native Americans" where spotted, but with beards. and they DONT have beards, another reporting was of a boy with yellow hair, but he ran off. So to sum up, it dissapeared of the face of the Earth, never found
