A malfunction has been detected in the ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM , could be a fuse ,
a sensor , or some other problem
Dump the gas tank out of it. the fuel pump there.
It is located/accessed from the engine bay, passenger side of the firewall.

Could be worn ball joints, worn steering linkages, worn/out of adjustment steering box and or worn/out of adjustment wheel bearings.
It does have an Ignition Control Module. It is mounted under the distributer cap by 2 screws and has wires plugged into it. they are $40-$60 dollars to buy from your local AutoZone, Napa, or O'Reily Auto Parts stores. Beware: you must remove airbox and hoses to get to the ICM and it is very difficult to get out after that anyhow.
Remove the instrument cluster.
On a 1996 Ford E-150 : Rotate the headlight knob in your dash fully COUNTERCLOCKWISE to turn on the courtesy and cargo lights

It is located on the Left Side ( facing the engine) by the Alternator.
Check the TPS
Wear on either the bearings or race.
I have a '95 E150 and a '96 E250, both are 4.9 straight 6 cyl. One has 1 O2 sensor and the other has 2, one on each half of the exhayst manifold. I believe the 96 has 2. but it is an E250, not sure about the '96 E150.
The flasher is located under the dash board on the drivers side in the fuse box.
If the Third brake light is the only one working , it sounds like the multi function switch...aka turn signal switch...Just had the same problem with my 98 cargo van..
