It's unlikely that a web cam will do the job for you. Most webcams have only a USB connection. This is great for a computer interface but it doesn't carry an analog video signal on the connector. The display screen in the car will almost certainly have an analog video input rather than a USB port that will handle digital video. Even if the stereo system in the car has a USB port, you might want to check that it will recognize and accept a video device. Most are designed for audio replay from MP3 players or flash drives. Many of them simply won't be designed to handle video. If the display has a composite video input (normally just marked as video with an RCA socket) the simplest option is to find a small camera head and lens. These are often small cubes about 1" x 1" by 1/2" and will run on 12 volts. They are very low cost, easy to mount and will have a composite video output. Try a search for covert cameras or bullet cameras. They tend not to be waterproof so if it is to be mounted outside the car, make sure that it is properly protected from the elements.
