Yes, you can paint or stain your TV cabinets to match the rest of your furniture. Depending on the type of material they are made out of, you may want to strip them first.
you should use oil based paint for the shelf portion of cabinets. i made the same mistake.
I don't have the answer to your question, but am curious how the cabinets are holding up, were you happy with the finish, what finish of Aura did you use? I've painted some walls with Aura and was blown away by its performance. I want to do my kitchen cabinets, but always thought I'd have to use an oil based product. Thanks!

the cabinets were not properly prepared prior to the first painting. The paint can be "stripped" off using a commercial paint stripper or your best bet is to sand the paint and cabinets down as this will need to be accomplished anyway for any furute paint to adhere properly
Use gripper as a primer before painting your cabinets. I made the mistake of putting paint over cabinets with out gripper and the paint easily chipped and would even scratch with as little as a fingernail when opening a door or drawer. The next time I painted cabinets I used gripper and after 5 years the cabinets still look like new.

No, just the metal.
A person can purchase furniture such as TV cabinets, or stands, from several different places. Some of these places include Amazon, Walmart, Target, and Crutchfield.
LCD TV cabinets are made to store television equipment without the cords and wires laying around the television. The cabinet provides a space to store the wires, and control the mess.
What kind of paint was used? Water or oil based paint?
LCD TV cabinets can be found on any major retailer that focuses on selling furniture. I would try Walmart, Kmart, Sears or even online stores like Amazon.
There are many varieties of pop up tv cabinets available for LCD televisions including ones that serve decorative purposes, that swivel, and also have function! http://www.cabinet-tronix.com/
Media cabinets can hold your "Entertainment system." Basically it would hold your Television, your DVD player, game consoles and your surround-sound speakers.
Cabinets that are used to hold flat screen LCD and Plasma TVs are generally large Fly Cabinets, which are often larger than 36 inches long to accommodate the large TVs in today's market. They also have storage space underneath for cable boxes, DVD players, and Games Consoles.
